TuYo Theatre is the only San Diego company dedicated to producing theatre por y para nuestra comunidad Latine. We tell stories that reflect our families, our community, and our cultura. We keep tickets accessible through pay-what-you-can pricing, but that means we rely on our donors—our champions—to keep the lights on.

As actor Nancy Batres shared:

“TuYo Theatre has had such an immense impact on me! They’ve given me so many beautiful opportunities to share in community, learn from, and collaborate with incredible artists. Every rehearsal was filled with such joy, laughter, and a true sense of community, where I felt so seen and supported as a person and artist. I love how TuYo Theatre is doing theatre in the South Bay, their mission, and how they are producing so many new Latine works! I can’t wait to see how they continue to grow.”

And TuYo is growing. In 2024 alone, we reached more than 1,500 people, provided 352 free tickets so cost was never a barrier, employed 50 local artists, and 78% of audiences said they left feeling more civically engaged. This is the kind of impact that only happens when our community steps up.

Last year, we launched TuYo Champions, a monthly donor circle that helps us sustain our stages and our stories in San Diego.
